27% were female. More than half was Caucasian. 9 were Asian, of that 1 was from China and 1 was from Taiwan, the rest were from Hong Kong. 3 were African Americans.

3. 1 fired me.

4. 1 lost his company and I went down with him.

5. I went through 3 significant downturns and or re-orgs.

6. A few significant “moments”: Windows 95 launch, Beijing Olympics, a few cool products from the fruit company, the journey of LeBron James, and a beautiful little thingy that counted steps in the most fancy way possible (Nike+).

Other random memorable moments:

1. Cutting newspaper, yea, real papers. It was my first real job so to speak. It was for my mom’s company. Yea. She was my first boss. I had to find relevant articles from a stack of daily newspapers, cut them and put them into summaries for her team. It was the first time I went from “this is so pointless” to “oh someone is reading it for more than 2 minutes.”
2. The first time I became a manager, on the 2nd day of my job, one of my teammates, a tenured one, asked for a chat, and she wanted a pay raise.
3. My manager advised me not to get a sports car and should keep my civic instead. I ignored him and got my sports car. My memory of that car is when I drove back home, with the top down, carrying the boxes from my office, after they let me go.
4. When I was working for a Chinese company, one of my projects was to get the grandson of the chairman of one of our state owned bank customers to study in the UK. This project involved getting him to get a good enough score in TOEFL, picking out the school, filling out all the admission crap, taking him to the school, getting him settled down, and then taking the grandparents, who tagged along, to visit Istanbul and Cairo.
5. One of my manager feedback to me was, “You are asking for a feedback? Here is one: Stop asking for feedback.”
6. I only witnessed one of them cried. In fact he cried during a leadership meeting. He was a white man. Others called him cry baby. He didn’t last very long, but I still admire him a lot.

what is going on with me? oh let me think … I am still working at Andersen(man … I didn’t even know how to spell my company’s name last time I updated my webpage…) … life is ok. boring in a way. still in Ann Arbor. I really need to get out of this shit hole. it is really getting a little bit too lifeless.

Things have and haven’t really changed. I look exactly the same, still lazy and trying to cut corners, but at the same time I am very settled down with Judy and our .. .see OUR focus is to find our career path and then really settle down. wow rite? haha.

well, apart from these usually stuff nothing really changed that much. I am going to get rid of my blue VW cabrio and get a Civic Si … yea yea I know civic sucks. but I am broke, man.

anyways, life goes on after y2k, even though I still have those bottles of water and torches at home that mom forced me to buy just in case …. oh whatever. if anyone who knows me and haven’t talked to me for a while or just some jackasses want to add a little color into my life by bothering me, send me and email or ICQ me la. minghon@umich.edu and 1334046.

[this was quite memorable. this was 1 week before graduation from college. so i finally managed to find a job, find a girl, and bought a car. and i still wrote the same way after 3 years of tertiary education] Sorry, and finally, my last version of hp …. how many years…. three I think. Yeah, about three years old….. this page. haha, strange, and unbelievable, isn’t it? Anyways…

Life is short, as the page has suggested. College life is even shorter. I shall be graduating in less than a week. Three years…. a flash of a second… man. It is all gone now…. now more school life … college life. time for the real thing. work.

I will start working with the Anderson Consulting LLP [University of Michigan is a good school. they do teach you how to spell. i was just a bad student] in Detroit in late September. Process Analyst is what I am going to do …. well … whatever that is. haha. anyways, now I bought a car. Finally. I used my OWN money. man. It is killing me but I love my little baby. little minghon. It is a Volkswagon Cabrio…. convertable. Jazz blue. real cool. manual transmission. so cool. I love it. but it is slow. just like me. that is why I like it.

Now that life is almost gone … here …. and new life is waiting for me. ha, what should I do? ha. my mind is no where close to being ready. I still want to skip class, copy homework and get chicks. ha. whatever man. I am sure I will be more than ready …. aha. coz I am never ready for anything … and therefore I am always ready for everything. what?
