Four things that reminded me that life can be simple and beautiful:
1, The DNC 2024 has made me feel emotional and hopeful. I am reminded of how powerful politics can be. Experiencing such strong emotions can be both good and bad, but regardless, following the DNC 2024 has been a vivid and memorable experience.
2, “Made With Lau,” a YouTube cooking channel hosted by a second-generation Hong Konger and his Cantonese-speaking father, has won several awards. They created a video about the journey, which was a feel-good story and also a bit of a redemption story.
3, MKBHD reviewed the new VW minibus. I don’t recall how long ago it was announced, but I wanted to know more about it. The wait felt long, yet now it strangely seems short.
4, Ben Thompson talked to David Perell about his business. Ben Thompson is a role model. I subscribe to his newsletter and his podcast bundle. He pioneered the newsletter subscription model. I want to have his lifestyle – a daily grind of writing about something I love. Listening to how he works and builds his livelihood was inspiring.
